Bone reconstruction – Bone placement

What are the objectives of implantology treatments?

Dentistry Services

Implantology's main function is the implantation of new pieces in the maxillary bone. Its purpose is the replacement of teeth that we no longer have. Either because they are not found (congenital) or because we have lost them over time. In our dental clinics, our implant specialist makes a detailed study of each patient in order to obtain the best aesthetic and functional results according to their assessment and diagnosis.

Benefits of dental implantology:

  • They are more durable over time.
  • They are fixed, safe and more hygienic.
  • They prevent bone loss.
  • They prevent the displacement of other dental pieces.
  • Easier to chew and therefore to eat.
  • When placing an implant the other pieces remain intact (not so with the bridges).

Why choose CDC?

At CDC, we are specialists in bone reconstruction and soft tissue augmentation for implant placement, giving the tooth a natural appearance. Dentists from different specialties, implant surgeons and prosthetics, who have years of experience to their credit, intervene in this process. Our medical staff will always assist you, make an evaluation and explain in detail the different options and alternatives for your future treatment.

We have state-of-the-art technology that helps us obtain a correct and precise evaluation of the dental status of patients. That is why we have the 3D TAC , also called dental TAC . This state-of-the-art equipment allows a diagnosis to be made through 3D images (three dimensions). With it we can have the exact height, width and space available for the placement of your implants.

At Clínica De La Cuesta we also care about the comprehensive health of our patients and that is why we have sedation with an anesthesiologist available. Conscious sedation is a technique that we apply mainly to patients with a high level of fear and anxiety. This will allow you to be more relaxed so that you can perform the treatment more effectively. Our implantology consultation is available so that you can once again have a healthier and more beautiful smile.

Implantology Techniques

Bone placement technique: Can implants be placed when there is little bone? Yeah. At CDC we use different surgical techniques depending on each patient. Among them, the placement of bone either from the patient or artificial. Sometimes, it is not possible to take it from the same patient and so we resort to the artificial one. With this bone graft we increase the height and width of the maxillary or mandible bone. This technique provides a greater bone surface to be able to place the implant.

Bone reconstruction: It is a technique in which the surgeon takes portions of the patient’s bone and places them in the area to be implanted. This procedure is performed in order to obtain a bone with greater stability and rigidity in a short time for future implant placement surgery.

Types of Implants

Zygomatic implants: Zygomatic implant treatment is an alternative for those people who have a great loss of bone and in a very advanced state. These implants are fixed in the cheek bone. This bone is called zygomatic and hence the name of this treatment. One of its advantages is that all the implants are placed on the day of surgery and it is done under dental sedation.

Materials

One of the most used materials for dental implants is titanium . Titanium is a hard, light and also moldable material. Among its main characteristics is biocompatibility since it is non-toxic and non-allergenic. This makes it possible for it to be used for dental implants through osseointegration.

Frequent questions

Once the implant is placed, we must wait two to three months in order for it to integrate and heal correctly. In some cases the implant and the prosthesis can be done the same day.

An implant can last a lifetime. However, this will depend on your oral hygiene and your future reviews on time.

Remember that we use anesthesia or sedation so you do not feel pain.

We work with a wide variety of medical and dental insurances including burial policies with dental coverage. If you do not find your insurance in our list, do not hesitate to contact us.
