Temporary relaxation in the injected muscle.
Laboratory Synthesized Toxin for Medical Use
Aesthetic Medicine Treatments
Definition
The toxin causes temporary relaxation, more or less pronounced depending on the dose, in the muscle into which it has been injected.
Its use has been mainly in neurological spastic conditions and for the treatment of facial wrinkles. The muscles of the face are responsible for the expression of our emotions. These muscles are located just under the skin and are responsible for the different grimaces on the face.
Its continued use makes these areas marked and wrinkles appear even at rest, the best known being wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows and crow’s feet.
The toxin is injected in a proper proportion into the wrinkle-causing muscle. It is done with a very fine needle and is usually done in the office.

More information about the Toxin.
The dose used is very small and does not imply serious risks. The toxin acts on the motor end plate, which is the connection between the nerve and the muscle. It prevents the release of acetylcholine, which is the messenger substance for the transmission of the nerve impulse to the muscle.
The effect is not permanent, as the nerve produces new nerve endings and new connections to the muscle. This means that, three months after the injection, muscle activity begins to recover.
After injection, the effect begins after 4-5 days and lasts between 4 and 6 months, after which the treatment must be repeated. However, it seems that after repeated injections the muscle weakens, fewer doses are needed and the result is longer lasting.
It has been the most used treatment worldwide of all those applied in aesthetic medicine, with a significant upward progression.
The degree of satisfaction is very high, which is why more than 90% of the patients who apply it for the first time continue with the treatment every five/six months.
